Introduction

This 3-day course teaches how to deploy Oracle Enterprise Manager and effectively use the tool to administer and monitor the Oracle Database and Operating System. During this class participants learn the Oracle Enterprise Manager architecture, setup the console, use a variety of integrated applications, learn about reports, implement job- and event-based system management. This enables participants to administer and monitor the Oracle platform from a single, integrated, GUI, and easy-to-use console. Standalone, three-tier, and browser-based configurations are discussed in this course.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

• Understand the Oracle Enterprise Manager Architecture.
• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager to effectively administer and monitor the Oracle Platform.
• Deploy Oracle Enterprise Manager for local, client/server, or three-tier network configurations.
• Set up the console, OMS (Oracle Management Server), repository, and Intelligent Agents.
• Set up management regions.
• Implement job- and event-based system management .
• Utilize the management packs for diagnostic, tuning, and database changes.
• Set up the reporting system.
