Introduction

Many companies have their own terms, methodology, and documentation for managing projects. To leverage these standards, Versatile will customize our Principles of Project Management class to teach your employees to manage projects your way. This 3-day course integrates the proven techniques of project management and your project management standards in a hands-on workshop.

The presentation is company-specific. Participants will learn course concepts then immediately apply them to projects for which they are currently responsible. They’ll walk out of class with a draft of that project’s statement of work and a detailed action plan that includes tasks, a network schedule, and a preliminary resource plan.

Benefit from experienced instructors while solving the project problems you struggle with everyday. Learn the power of a work breakdown structure, network diagram, critical path analysis, and resource leveling. Understand how the project lifecycle relates to your development lifecycle.

The course is not a traditional leadership course. But, because anyone in a project management role is in a leadership role, the leadership aspect of each technique is emphasized. Participants learn how the project management tool set enables them to satisfy all their stakeholders — sponsors, management, customers and the project team.

Benefits

  • Apply proven project management techniques to your projects.
  • Create realistic project schedules.
  • Get the most from project management software using the 5 steps of project planning.
  • Create effective project plans with clear responsibilities and milestones.
  • Identify problems when they are still small enough to solve.
  • Transform ambiguous projects into focused, productive projects with tangible results.
