Watching the Instructor's Presentation Lync Web Conferencing Software You're probably familiar with Lync web conferencing software that lets you meet and collaborate with colleagues in different locations. The same kind of software is used in delivering our QS Live classes. Internet conferencing technology lets you to see what is happening on the instructor's PC as they demonstrate how to use the course software. It's also used to transmit other aspects of the instructor's presentation such as PowerPoint slides, and the instructor's image on the web camera. When you participate in an QS Live class at one of our locations, the conferencing software will run on a separate computer than the one you are using to work through the course labs making it easy to see your work and the instructor's presentation at the same time. The QS Live Classroom Experience A web camera is used throughout the day so that you can put a face with the instructor's voice. The video is transmitted through the Lync Web conferencing software and will appear in a small window on the screen. Listening to the Presentation and Participating in Class Discussions Audio We only use high-quality audio to broadcast the audio component of the instructor presentation. We use Microsoft Lync when conducting classes that require multiple connections. The audio technology we use creates an informal conversational atmosphere that encourages interaction. You'll be able to speak naturally and engage as you would in a regular class. When presenting to a large class, instructors use lapel microphones that maintain constant volume. Doing the Hands-on Exercises and Getting Help Remote Desktop Software Remote desktop software mirrors your PC to a PC in the classroom with the instructor. This way, the instructor can see what you're doing as you work through the course exercises and labs. Should you need help, the instructor can provide assistance or even take control of your computer. Learn more about QSLive. |
