About this Course:

In the  world of today, data is considered to be everything. Every industry relies heavily on efficient and effective data management solutions. An Azure Data engineer certification is a great way of improving your resume and ensuring  that your skills are in demand by every industry. The salary for an Azure data engineer is $122,883 per annum.

This course is designed to help participants learn how to implement solutions in the context of  current business and tech needs. This will be done via the use of multiple designed data platform technologies. This  may include on-premises, cloud and hybrid data scenarios with integrated relational, No-SQL or Data Warehouse data.

This course will also include training on using a wide variety of technologies for designing process architectures. The technologies will cover both streaming and batch data.

This course will challenge students to learn ways to implement data security which will involve data access, data policies and data standards. The participants will also be tasked with learning the effective management and trouble shooting of Azure data solutions which includes  but is not limited to optimization of data, availability and disaster recovery of Big Data, batch processing and streaming data solutions.

 Upon completion of this course, the participant should have an advanced skill set and a sound working knowledge of the following principals while also be able to;

  • Learn how to utilize Azure as a data engineer
  • Gain the skills needed for effective storage of data
  • Learn how to enable team based data science using Azure data bricks

  • Learn how to work with relational data stores based on Cloud
  • Be trained at performing real time analytics with stream analytics
  • Demonstrate data movement using Azure data factory
  • Learn how to secure data platforms

    Although Peter is an excellent teacher, the class was hampered by the quality of the labs. I was unable to finish most of them due to technical issues or errors in the course materials which blocked my progress. Since some labs required other labs to be completed, it was a domino effect that blocked my progress. Some required installation of software which could be a problem for some if corporate rules prevent installations on company resources. I also had some minor issues with Azure that prevented me from completing some tasks but it was mostly the lab materials. Without completing the labs I don't feel adequately prepared to take an exam but I do feel more confident to approach Azure and start working with it. I did not receive emails with the course redemption keys even while talking directly with the support rep. I believe that the emails were being blocked by my company because of the keys themselves. I think Quickstart needs another method of delivering the keys such as via text message or something. The value proposition for me from this course was the focused attention in a small window of time on certain material so as to prevent me from looking at too many things that are freely available and getting overwhelmed. Without the ability to complete lab training, that value is diminished as I can't say that I have a solid feel for what I was doing. The labs should be self contained in a virtual environment and the course materials up to date with the software. Several of the labs required class participation but with only 2 students in a virtual environment, any useful interaction was gone. I was really the only one interacting with the instructor.
