Jess Feldman, content manager for Course Report, met with Edgar Ayala virtually to talk about his experience with a university IT bootcamp. Ayala is a recent alum of UT Arlington’s Cloud Engineering Bootcamp powered by QuickStart (watch the full video here). 

UT Arlington Cloud Engineering Bootcamp

Ayala explained that because he already attended UT Arlington, their Cloud Engineering Bootcamp was the best choice for him. The admissions process was simple and Ayala chose the full-time learning track, which averages 20-30 hours a week studying. UTA’s Cloud Engineering Bootcamp includes 5 projects, with the final one being a capstone project that Ayala uses in a portfolio.  

Ayala knew the fundamentals of Python prior to UT Arlington’s Cloud Engineering Bootcamp, but for those who don’t know how to code, UTA’s bootcamp will teach you. The curriculum starts with IT basics, then transitions to operating systems of computers, like Linux and Microsoft. Finally, Cloud Engineering Bootcamp ends on cloud infrastructure, with candidates studying Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Linux.

Overall, Edgar Ayala expressed that UT Arlington’s Cloud Engineering Bootcamp powered by QuickStart was well worth it. He explains that knowing cloud is very valuable to tech companies, especially in an industry where cloud is rapidly changing. His advice for people interested in Cloud Engineering Bootcamp is to understand the amount of work and time needed, but if you can push through, it’s definitely worth it.
