This course includes in-depth coverage of the four domains that make up the "Body of Knowledge" portion of the CISM exam. This course will provide students with the tools to build their technical skills, as well as manage, design, oversee, and assess an enterprise's information security

The junior positions for CISM are Information Security Officer and Security Consultant for Computing, Networking or Information Technology. The middle and higher level titles include Information Security Manager, Security Manager (IT) and Chief Information Security Officer. The average salary for a CISM certified professional ranges from $52,402 to $243,610 (Source: Payscale). Entry level positions will garner a salary at the lower end of the spectrum whereas candidates who have successfully handled complex projects and been placed at a senior level can expect a significantly higher five figure salary, or one which may run into six figures.

Prerequisites

Students must submit verified evidence of a minimum of five years of information security work experience, with a minimum of three years of information security management work experience in three or more of the job practice analysis areas (i.e. Information Security Governance, Information Risk Management, Information Security Program Development and Management, Information Security Incident Management). The work experience must be gained within the 10-year period preceding the application date for certification or within 5 years from the date of originally passing the exam.
