About this course:

This is an introductory course to VMware Horizon View 7 Suite for virtualization professionals. It will convey to VMware professionals the procedure of installing and configuring Horizon View and its different components, and provide an understanding of the different component parts. They will learn how to design a basic EUC environment through the use of the products. After the completion of this course, the attendee is expected to be above VCP-DT level. This course is also preparatory material for the Certified Virtual Desktop Engineer certification exam. The Certified Virtual Desktop Engineer exam is taken online through Mile2’s Assessment and Certification System (MACS).

The salary for a VDI Professional is $79,168 per annum.

Course Objective:

Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to:  

  • Manage performance of the Horizon View desktops

  • Configure and manage pools using full clones, linked clones and instant clones

  • Configure and manage Remote Desktop Services (RDS) pools of applications

  • Configure and manage the Horizon View Clients and Agent

  • Install and configure virtual desktops with optimization, manage the User Environment Manager, manage App Volumes

  • Install and configure the Horizon View Connection Server, the Horizon View administrator interface, the Horizon View Security Server, and the Horizon Desktop Composer

  • Comprehend the use of profiles

  • Manage for growth

  • Correctly size desktop images and design a Horizon View Environment


This course is intended for:

  • VDI professionals that are new to VMware Horizon Suite, but are already proficient with vSphere 5.x and/or 6.x based virtual infrastructure and the configuration of DRS, HA and other Cluster related features.

  • Experienced users looking for performance insights


It is recommended that all prospective students have 2+ years’ experience with VMware vSphere.
