About Individual Course:
In this course, you learn how to install, customize, operate, and administer WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms. The course covers topics such as configuration, day-to-day administration, problem recovery, and managing security and performance. In addition to the instructor-led lectures, you also participate in hands-on lab exercises that are designed to reinforce lecture content. The lab exercises give you practical experience with tasks such as handling queue recovery, implementing security, and problem determination.
Course completion can also be a prerequisite for the appropriate WebSphere MQ Administrator certifications. Students can also opt for updated version of this course. The course uses the SUSE Linux platform for the lab environment. An updated version of this course is available. Upon course completion, students should be able to:

This intermediate level IT Ops course is designed for technical professionals who want to become administrators for any of the WebSphere MQ queue managers barring WebSphere MQ for iSeries and WebSphere MQ for z/OS.
Basic understanding of WebSphere MQ concepts and facilities, which can be obtained either through practical experience or successful completion of A Technical Introduction to WebSphere MQ course (WM101), (VM101), or (ZM101)
Familiarity with and ability to begin standard functions within the OS environment used in the lab exercises.
