About this course:
This course covers the basics of StorageGRID administration. You learn to use the Grid Manager to monitor and manage a StorageGRID 11.3 system. You learn to create and manage storage tenant accounts and users. You also learn how to configure information lifecycle management (ILM) rules and policies to manage object protection. You configure the StorageGRID NAS Bridge node for integration with legacy applications. Finally, you learn how to integrate a StorageGRID system into the NetApp Data Fabric. This course builds on the concepts in the StorageGRID Fundamentals course.
Course Objectives:
This course focuses on enabling you to do the following:
- Use the Grid Manager to monitor and manage a StorageGRID system
- Create and manage storage tenant accounts and users
- Configure information lifecycle management rules and policies
- Learn about the different monitoring and administration interfaces and solutions
- Configure and manage email notifications and custom alarms
- Describe how StorageGRID can be integrated into the NetApp Data Fabric

StorageGRID AdministrationCourse was ok. Afternoons felt rushed. Day 2 was the best. Class finished earlier than I expected for a 3 day class. Instructor was knowledgable. Engaging with students is probably a PITA for the instructor when holding remote classes but in the end he did alright.

StorageGRID AdministrationI only gave 2 stars on question 30 because I believe one needs to read the documentation and work all sorts of scenarios in a lab (and even real) environment before going to a certification. The knowledge I got in this course is a good starter, but then again, to me this was the aim of this course. To share with others: First interaction with QuickStart. Quick and painless registration. Good training material, a lab to test all the scenarios and play with the system and a knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor all the needed ingredients for a successful course were there. And I mean enthusiastic instructor as in someone excited by this technology that wants to share its knowledge with the others, not in the sense of "TV salesman enthusiastic". I recommend the course and looking forward to the next one.

StorageGRIDÂ AdministrationPlan to only spend about 2 to 2.5 hours per day of lecture, and another 2 hours for labs. This does not go all day as indicated during registration. The course itself was pretty decent. It does a good job of covering the storagegrid basics. There were times I felt I was just going through the motions in the labs though without relevant examples/back story to support what we were configuring.

StorageGRIDÂ AdministrationThis was the first course I have done that covering material in lecture took 30% of the class and lab covered 70%. Given current class knowledge level feels appropriate and the lab was greatly needed. Overall seemed to fit subject and again the student knowledge level.

StorageGRIDÂ AdministrationGreat instructor but NetApp needs to update the module/exercise content to reflect the new version of StorageGrid. I had issues with the labs the first day and Jon was very helpful trying to resolve them. He was open to questions and reached out to others to get answers.

Some aspects of the labs I just worked through the guide rather than fully understood "why" I was doing what I was doing. It would be handy to say "this step is necessary to perform....", "To enable this to work, this must be...." etc
