To defend against reciprocity-based lures, organizations should train employees to view unsolicited offers skeptically, reinforce that legitimate vendors rarely require credential entry for “gifts,” and incorporate simulated phishing exercises featuring false rewards to highlight how the reciprocity bias can be weaponized.

How Decision-Making Changes After a Breach
