AI is the Future of Cybersecurity

These days when you connect to the internet by any means such as through a PC, mobile device, or tablet, there is an equal chance of growing cyber threats towards your direction. You can’t escape it, no matter what kind of security systems or antivirus program you use. This could result in major data breaches, information theft leaking o finical or other corporate information as well. What tools and investment schemes should be implemented to make your stay on the internet worthwhile, so you won’t ever have to look over your back for consistent cyber threats on the internet?

Now, these days, multiple organizational analysts, cybersecurity professionals, and data security experts believe that wise money lies in the corporation of the Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to tackle various cyber threats around various operational systems.

Current scenario of cybersecurity

Many organizations emphasis over the security of their internal networking systems more than any other thing. To make sure that the internal systems are at all times operational and free from consistent cyber attacks, these organizations install firewalls and antivirus systems for regular monitoring of the operational systems. When a hacker approaches the security systems of the websites or companies they are met with firewalls, these firewalls are either installed physically with the server or software-based, which is then controlled by users through administrative privileges.

When a hacker approaches the firewall and circumvents it, then it is only a matter of time where a small data breach escalates into a significant cyber incident. After manipulating the installed firewalls, a hacker is then met with the antivirus systems to stop the attack and the hackers from infiltrating further within the security systems of the organization. An antivirus works by identifying specific lines of code that are registered as malicious or suspicious and block the access of that particular user from the network systems. If the hackers or illicit cybercriminals aren't stopped abruptly, then the spyware or ransomware can seep through the security systems and encrypt every ounce of data it can find in its wake.

This encrypted data then can not be accessed until unless the hacker provides a password or key code to open the files, and this doesn't happen until the organization agrees to meet with their specific organizations. Multiple IT-based organizations and support teams emphasize the consistent backup of the data so you can recover from the recent cyber breaches. The best line of defense, though, lies in persistent training of the organization's employees because if they are adequately trained, then they can face multiple cyber attacks and breaches and make their way out of it without any struggle.

How can AI shape the future?

Currently, almost all the IT-based tools and software requires human insight to work properly. An IT technician or expert has to provide dedicated instructions to the firewall or update the privacy policy accordingly, or otherwise, it won't work. The same goes for the regulation of backup schedule; if it is not manually put out there, then the system won't start the backup process out of its insight. On the other hand, consistent oversight is required to make sure that all these processes and systems are working properly.

The future of the IT industry lies with instating Artificial intelligence-enabled systems and machine learning perspective. In the future, the firewalls would be smart enough to regulate their policies according to the current level of threat or attack stimuli. Not only the firewalls but other technical systems would be able to operate automatically without human insight but make systematic decisions simply as the human brain does.

Experts have also suggested that natural machine learning capabilities of artificial intelligence can play a major role in counterfeiting the latest cyber attacks in a decent and faster way. In theory, the concept is to feed the AI systems a large amount of raw data from the internet and then use machine learning practices to learn how various cyber breaches originate and what are the most tactful methods that can be implemented to stop the attack in its execution.

However, there lies a downside to this concept as the AI technology is not cheap at all, and that is a moment of awe for small and medium-sized businesses and organizations. You would have to hire a professional team of AI experts that can build customized AI solutions for your dedicated organization.

Passwords end here

This is the future that we are talking about; in today's world, a user is charged with the responsibility of choosing or customizing their password. This isn't the most efficient or rather the securest system on the face of the IT industry. Passwords can be leaked, can be hacked, broken, or decrypted with multiple software or hacking systems. Even if the user continues changing the passwords now and then still, they won't be able to keep the cyber threats and attacks at bay for long.

Considering these possibilities, various integrated software systems and tools were introduced, such as password managers that can take care of all the different types of passwords and secure them at all times. But with the inclusion of AI in cybersecurity systems, there won't be a need for passwords whatsoever.

The concept there is simple, but some of the professionals would report it as an enthusiastic approach. In theory, AI systems would track every user based on their roles, privileges, and other actions. Thus any deviation from the routine would set off the alarms or red flags among AI security systems, and the access of this particular user would be blocked completely.

If this happens, then the user would be tasked with verifying their identity with other biometric systems such as scanning fingerprints or facial features. AI systems can't be manipulated or hacked that easily because they have an operation brain of their own, and this is what the IT industry requires soon. If you want to pursue your career in the AI technology systems, then acquiring a particular cybersecurity certification would prove to be a stepping stone towards an adventurous and all-new cybersecurity career.
