About this course:

The participant will develop skills in the design of solutions in this workshop using Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery technologies from Azure. There will be discussed three different types of conditions. The first one will consist of apps running on-premises Virtual machines which will be migrated to Azure Infrastructure as a service. Second, apps from Azure Infrastructure as a Service that must be failed from either on-site to Azure or between two Azure areas. Third, for Platform as a service apps, the use of automated failover techniques integrated into Azure Platform as a services Web Framework and SQL Database will be utilized.

Course Objective:

  • To determine how different Azure technologies can be used together to create a robust and complex Infrastructure as a Service Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan consisting of the use of Azure Site Recovery, Traffic Manager, Azure Automation, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups (Virtual machines), to fail-over and fail-back of the Azure Infrastructure as a Service database and IIS application from one Azure region to the other.
  • Grasp the different usage scenarios for deploying Azure Site Recovery, User migration to Azure Infrastructure as a Service on site
  • High-availability architecture and the use of Azure Platform as a service Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery techniques like Traffic Manager, SQL Database Fail-over Groups with Azure Application services
