Learn vs Master: Which Is A Better IT Skills Training Subscription?

We have been promoting our Learn and Master subscriptions since January 2017. Since then, a number of IT professionals and organizations have benefitted from both. In this blog post, I would like to answer the questions we generally come across when promoting the Learn and Master subscriptions on different channels. We will also discuss the general user personas that are a good fit for the Master subscription and the Learn subscription. Let’s get to it.

Why Subscriptions?

There are more than 750 courses in our course catalog at the time of writing this article. These courses consist of self-paced courses as well as instructor-led courses (delivered in a virtual classroom). While selling these courses individually is always an option, we have covered them in subscriptions to empower our customers, and make IT skills training affordable for all. Once you have subscribed to either of the subscriptions, you gain access to various courses that you can benefit from, as long as the subscription is valid. Since we keep adding more feathers to our cap in the form of new courses and accreditations, you benefit from having access to a constantly growing course catalog at no additional cost for as long as your subscription is valid.

The Learn Subscription

Our Learn subscription is a monthly subscription that gives the user access to all self-paced courses in our catalog. It is ideal for lifelong learners and people who want to dedicate short snippets of their time for some high-value IT skills training. There are several companies out there offering similar subscriptions, but our subscription is unique in the way that we deliver training through our cognitive learning platform. The platform, known as CLIPP, is powered by an AI that curates additional course material for you to benefit from, and supports multi-modal knowledge transfer.

Who Should Subscribe To The Learn Subscription?

You should subscribe to the Learn subscription if any or all of the following apply to you:

  • You are autodidactic when it comes to learning new skills
  • You want to keep your IT skills up to date without breaking the bank
  • You do not have much time in your schedule for high impact IT skills training that spans several days
  • You love learning new skills

The Master Subscription

The Master Subscription contains everything that the Learn Subscription contains, and on top of that, it contains virtual instructor-led courses. These courses are delivered in a virtual classroom and usually span three to five days, or more. One of the biggest benefits offered by the Master subscription is in terms of benefit-cost ratio (BCR). Each virtual instructor-led course is worth the same as the subscription, so if you are planning to take multiple high-impact courses in the span of 12 months, you can do so for the price of one course. There is no other subscription out there that comes close to the value offered by the Master subscription.

The Master subscription also has additional features for managers. It puts managers in charge of the training of their team, and allows them to assign training to different members of the team, as well as view their progress.

Who Should Subscribe To The Master Subscription?

You should subscribe to the Master Subscription if any or all of the following apply to you:

  • You want to interact with an instructor and ask questions in real time when acquiring new skills
  • You want high-impact technical training to advance your career
  • You lead a team of technologists and want a one-stop solution to train your team and stay updated about their progress

Now that you have a better understanding of both subscriptions, hopefully you will be able to choose the better subscription for you (or your team). If you still have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us, and we will address them as soon as possible.
